* Missing Person *
Boyne Fishermen's Rescue emergency paging system activated at 11.34pm last night.
Call recieved requesting assistance in a missing person search in the Drogheda area,it was feared the female may attempt to enter the water.
The emergency pager crews mustered with the launch of our inshore rescue boat to conduct a search on the river Boyne.
Our mobile 1, 2 & 3 unit was dispatched to check various locations and points of interest in and around the Drogheda boundaries area.
The inshore rescue boat commenced a search from the last known location of the female.
While on route to an area of interest our mobile units where alerted to a female matching the description nearby.
A rescue swimmer was placed at a nearby entry location while the inshore rescue boat was positioned nearby in the event of an entry.
After a short period of time the female thankfully was prevented from entering the water and left the area in the care of Gardai and family.
Other units in attendance Drogheda Gardai.
Crews returned to base to wash ,restage and sanitize equipment in the event of another tasking.
