Call out 10/03/20 11/20
Today at 11.15am the emergency paging system was activated for the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service.
The teams help was requested with a incident on bettystown beach where a car had became stuck on the beach and the tide had surrounded the vehicle with 2 occupants inside .
We immediately dispatched our 4x4 unit and crew to the location of the incident,on arrival crew members who are trained in flood rescue entered the water to access the car and occupants.
After a situation assessment , due to health and safety reasons the decision was taken to safely extract the car with the occupants inside.
The car was extracted safely and under the supervision of the crew assisted by a local tractor nearby.
Crews returned back to base where they washed, refueled and restaged the equipment awaiting another call.
