At 19.26hrs this evening the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue & Recovery Service emergency paging system was activated requesting the teams assistance with concerns about a possible person on route to enter the river Boyne from an unknown location.
We dispatched our inshore rescue boat and 3 mobile units.
The inshore rescue boat was launched and conducted search operations from our boathouse upriver to the cable bridge.
We dispatched our mobile units containing swiftwater rescue personnel who where suited and ready for a rapid entry to the water if required.
They checked various locations and access points while also maintaining a presence around the town.
Shortly before 21:00hrs a stand down was received as the male had been located safe and well.
Crews were stood down returning to base to wash,restage and fuel the equipment.
