** Animal Rescue **
This afternoon shortly before 15.00pm the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service was requested to assist on Laytown beach.
Crews were requested to assist with a animal rescue following numerous calls and requests about a baby seal washed up on Laytown beach.
Thankfully crews following a discussion with Seal Rescue Ireland where it was agree to leave the baby seal alone and to monitor the situation.
They also provided some valuable information on these beautiful animals highlighting that the baby seals shelter on land during rough weather and sea conditions.
