Boyne Fishermen's Rescue & Recovery Service contacted this morning at 08:45am, following a series of calls from morning walkers on the beach.
Call recieved was for a seal which had washed up on Mornington beach and looked injured.
Following communication and photos between Seal Rescue Ireland and the Boyne Fishermens Rescue it was agreed that we would send a crew out to check it out.
We sent our mobile 2 unit and a crew down to check on the welfare of the seal,while in constant communication with Seal Rescue Ireland.
Following the inspection and guidance from Seal Rescue Ireland it was confirmed that the seal was un injured and was common to be on land.
We observed for a short period then the seal made its way back into the channel.
Crews stood down returned to base to wash ,restage and sanitize equipment in the event of another tasking.
