** Possible Person in the water**
Shortly before 18.00 this evening the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service emergency paging system was activated.
The call requested assistance on Donors Green area where a dog had been found tied to a fence pole in a distressed state and it was feared the owner may have entered the water.
We dispatched our inshore rescue boat and land crew to the incident to conduct a search of the surrounding areas.
Following a search of the area and further investigation after the crew had taken the dog back to Boathouse it was confirmed that the dog had purposely left there.
Crews then returned back to the boathouse where they washed , restaged and sanitized equipment ready for the next call out.
