** Person Reported in the water **
Shortly before 00.05am this morning the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service emergency paging system was activated.
The call reported and requested assistance with the reports of a person in the water at the bridge of peace in Drogheda.
Swiftly arriving on scene within a matter of minutes, members of our scene crew met with gardai and the call provider, not observing a casualty in the water a search was commenced.
Our inshore rescue boat launched from our boathouse on the Marsh Road and made its way swiftly up river to assist in the search.
Crews conducted a search of the area from Dominics Street Bridge upto the Mell pitch areas joined by Drogheda Coast Guard Unit.
Following a detailed search of the area a short time later the crews received a stand down as it was deemed a call with good intent.
Also on scene Drogheda Gardai , Garda Armed Support Unit and Drogheda Coast Guard.
Crews then returned back to the boathouse where they washed , restaged and sanitized equipment ready for the next call out.
