This afternoon shortly before 12.53hrs the emergency paging system for the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service was activated to the reports of a person after entering the water from the Scotch hall area.
We immediately dispatched our inshore Rescue boat which was on scene within minutes and scene crew to the location.
An update was received that a member of the public had entered the water in rescue attempt and managed to retrieve the casualty back to the bank, including the use of a life ring.
Scene crew kept the casualty stable until the arrival of the inshore rescue boat which transferred the casualty to our boathouse on the Marsh Road.
Members of the BFRRS provided medical treatment to casualty while awaiting the arrival of the National Ambulance Service.
The crews kept the casualty stable until handing over to the NAS where the casualty was transferred to our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda.
Crews were stood down returning to base to wash,restage and fuel the equipment.
On scene also Drogheda Gardai , Garda armed support unit ,National Ambulance Service and Scotch hall security.
