Boyne Fishermen's Rescue emergency paging system activated at 02.01am this morning.
 
Details recieved was for a female who was witnessed in a distressed state last seen in the Dominics park area.
 
It was feared that the female may possibly attempt to enter the water.
 
While the weather conditions were poor with heavy rain and wind it was very unusual sighting.
 
The emergency pager crews mustered with the launch of our inshore rescue boat and mobile 1 , 2 & 3 to the scene.
 
Our mobile 3 unit arrived swiftly on scene which had been met with a member of the public who had been in the area.
 
A quick search of the park and walkway along the river resulted in the swift locating of the female matching the description.
 
With combined efforts of the member of the public and our mobile 3 unit crew the female was removed from the rivers edge.
 
Joined by our mobile 1 & 2 unit and multiple land crews.
 
Crew trained in mental health first aid & suicide prevention provided casualty care to the female.
 
Drogheda Gardai arrived on scene to take over casualty care ,while our crews assisted in the search and recovery of personal belongings of the casualty.
 
Crews returned to base to wash ,restage and sanitize equipment in the event of another tasking.
