Inshore Rescue Boat

Based on the Marsh Road in Drogheda, Co. Louth and just south of the viaduct on the river Boyne at our purpose built boathouse.

 
The Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service provides a 24 hour emergency rescue service along the River Boyne, 365 days a year.
 
A team of 25 personnel remain on call 24/7 365 days a year.
 
In the event of being contacted for a water incident occurring immediately our emergency paging system is activated.
 
Each on call member carries a pager in the event of the pager activating will immediately stop what they are doing and respond to the call.
 
The pager will beep and give the exact incident location and incident.
 
A full team turnout will happen within 6 mins of the call.
 
Immediately dispatched is one mobile unit to our boathouse to launch the inshore rescue boat with 3 crew on board with skills ranging from first aid,swimmer,radio communications just to name a few .
 
While this is happening additional mobile units and crew will have arrived on scene and members trained in swift-water rescue have entered the water to secure the causality until the boat arrives.
 
Causalities and personnel are then extracted from the water where they will be taken to the first aid room in our purpose built boathouse on the marsh road.
 
 They will be treated for first aid then handed over to the relevant services.
